Happy Friday! Today is a fun post that I’m really excited to share. Yesterday, I completed a high/low boho living room that I adore. There are 4 options ranging from most pattern and color to least…you know, just in case. I would love to know which option you like the best so leave a comment down below. We shall take a poll and see which of you are ready for some bold beauty in your home.
So, I while I specialize in affordable design, I also like the finer things. I mean, who doesn’t? This design is a blend of both high and low end products; it’s a perfect balance. I have items from Target and Wayfair as well as Dear Keaton and Hygge & West. If your budget is mid range and you want something that looks more high end, I would go the high/low route. Reason being: low end products will still look great, but higher end products will just bring your space to the next level.

Who doesn’t love mood boards?? This is the exciting part of design. This space is going to be a high/low boho living room full of pattern and interest. That’s probably my FAVORITE thing about the boho style…you can incorporate soooo much texture and natural elements but also pattern. It’s incredible and the end result is spectacular and warm. You know I love a warm room.
After making a first pass at this high/low boho living room, I was so proud of myself! As you know, I’m a color lover through and through. So, designing something that remained pretty neutral was a reason for celebration. However, when I get a client, I like to provide an option that is juuuuust at the end of their comfort zone. Why? Because if you aren’t exposed to new stuff, you won’t have the opportunity to expand your style.

When working with a client, I like to think I have 2 jobs. The first is obviously to design an awesome space. The second is to educate and inform. I’ve talked about this before but I’ll say it again. You know how when you are developing a toddler’s palette, you offer many different types of foods so that they won’t just want buttered noodles forever? Well, just because you’re an adult doesn’t mean your palette can’t keep developing.
If I just do what is asked of me, that’s like, super boring. Sooooo I try to bring it lol. If you watch my instastories, you would have seen me tell you that I designed the high/low boho living room but then I found this amazing wallpaper by one of my favorites, Hygge & West. Perfect. No, really. I mean it. It’s perfect. Now I have a glorious neutral option and have the opportunity to add a pop of something special.

I played with the design a bit more and swapped a few things in and out. I ended up with 4 room options, all equally amazing, but all speaking to a different aspect of someone’s style. It is up to them to choose which aspect they want to highlight. After making a rendering of the wallpapered beauty, I went the opposite direction and designed 2 options even more neutral than the first. Hey, I aim to please.
So, there they are, ya’ll! Let me know which option you like the best. For real. I think it would be really interesting to learn about your style preferences. Also, it will help me give you what you want in other designs and how to’s. Deal? My favorites are #2 and #4. The grid ottomans are from Urban Outfitters, FYI.
Console Close Up
This console will be placed behind the sofa and against the back wall. If you’re having trouble styling your console table, I posted a tutorial. I also wanted you to see the details of the styling because this would work really well in a hallway or entryway.
