Wearable Art: 19 Architectural Earrings for Creatives

wearable art: architectural earrings
Part of being a creative is not accepting things as "just okay". Everything from your farmers' market bag to your jewelry should be designed well. That's what makes you great at what you do! You're always trying to improve something. For me, most jewelry is just "meh". It's boring and not designed well. It's cookie cutter and yet is also expensive. So today, I'm introducing you to wearable art: 19 architectural earrings for creatives.

Part of being a creative is not accepting things as “just okay”. Everything from your farmers’ market bag to your jewelry should be designed well. That’s what makes you great at what you do! You’re always trying to improve something. For me, most jewelry is just “meh”. It’s boring and not designed well. It’s cookie cutter and yet is also expensive. So today, I’m introducing you to wearable art: 19 architectural earrings for creatives.

I, for one, refuse to go to typical jewelry stores, affordable ones included. Even selections at department store jewelry counters can be abysmal. I’ve been looking for a good pair of hoop earrings for 2 years now with no luck. The best one I’ve found? A booth of handmade jewelry at the Bryant Park Holiday Market (and I bought them in 10 seconds). It’s difficult to find something simple, let alone something that’s actually a cool design.

In our fast fashion/throw away culture, not much time is being spent on true design–which is a shame. Things are copied and reproduced over and over; then you wear them 4 times and they fall a part. It’s crazy. I often wonder what the future vintage stores will look like. Will there be anything that survives? Between Forever 21 and IKEA engineered wood, I’m not confident that items from our era will be around in 10 years let alone 50.

So, I am proposing that we take more care and consideration in our choices. I am hoping that we buy less, but better quality. That we actually choose items we LOVE, like Marie Kondo teaches us. Let’s stop settling. Architectural earrings that are unique and will last are a great start.

This post was actually inspired by Wolf and Moon Shop. And, no, this isn’t sponsored. I discovered Wolf and Moon on instagram a few weeks ago and was immediately smitten. Their jewelry is surprisingly affordable yet is a literal work of art. When I was first browsing their selections, I had so many tabs open on my phone that I had to switch to a laptop for better viewing. This bodes well.

Point being, as a creative, I felt seen and represented. Not everyone wants traditional options; some people want to stand out. Some people want to flaunt their creativity in the forms of their fashion choices. And that’s beautiful. Let me show you some outrageously gorgeous architectural earrings that will make your heart flutter. I had to narrow the list down to my favorite 19, so, apologies.

Are you blown away? I am still blown away and I’ve browsed their website in its entirety many times since discovering them. I can’t wait to start a collection. The great thing is that these come in multiple colors, ranging from neturals to blues and greens. So, if you’re a fan of the architecture but not the color, check what else is available. There’s even a mother of pearl veneer, which makes the interior designer in me very happy.

Happy shopping, kindred spirits!
