I love following colorful instagram accounts. Like, suuuper love. While I do appreciate a neutral space, color just lifts my spirit and makes me happy. This week, both The Makerista and Studio DIY revealed their colorful bathroom makeovers. Let’s check these beauties out together, shall we?

Two Bloggers’ Colorful Bathroom Makeovers

The Makerista

First up is Gwen, aka The Makerista. Remember when I just reupholstered vintage bamboo chairs? Well, Gwen was the inspiration. She inspired me to start thrifting and I have quickly become obsessed. She lives in Kansas City and takes us around with her to all the different thrift stores.

Ughhh, so good. Don’t you love a good before and after? Gwen’s style is modern Victorian. She loves vintage and has the coolest home. Her home is literally full of treasures from all over. In the last year, Gwen has been updating her kids’ spaces. First, her daughters’ bedroom for the One Room Challenge. Now, she’s tackled their bathroom.

Her husband, Micah, is a pro at renovation. Over the summer, they completed their backyard renovation and Micah built a second floor deck with an awesome handrail. She loves a classic black and white (don’t we all!) and you can see this motif repeated all over her home. Gwen is a fan of classic patterns (like her Serengeti leopard chairs!) and updates these styles flawlessly.

The details in this space are truly special. I mean, how great are those Victorian sconces? She covered the lampshade in red grosgrain ribbon! How creative! Every inch of this space is so well thought out and custom to fit her little girls’ unique and vibrant personalities. From the Greek key pattern, to the custom shower curtain, it’s a lovely space.

Gwen also redid her son’s bathroom, but for the purposes of this post, we are focusing on the colorful bathroom makeovers. If you want to see the reveal of her son’s bathroom, check out her full post. She also posted all the before pictures of both bathrooms so you can see what they started with. The transformation is truly incredible and was a labor of love.

Studio DIY

Here’s the newly renovated bathroom of the Mindell’s. Kelly runs Studio DIY and her hubbie, Jeff, is a photographer. Perfect combo huh? Their little family (including son, Arlo) is allll about color and fun. Studio DIY’s tagline is “make life a party!”. How sweet? The Mindell’s have also been updating their home, room by room, and I am always so impressed with their bold use of color and pattern. These are my kind of people, ya’ll.

Hot dang, look at that green! This bathroom is giving me serious Jungalow vibes. One of my favorite tile makers is Cle Tile, and their green Zellige tile is one of my favorites. How stunning is it in their shower?! Cle’s hex floor tile is a colorful and fun addition that ties everything together.

How beautiful, right? Kelly has a healthy obsession with Moroccan rugs, so I’m guessing that’s what this runner stunner is. You can see the whole process in their renovation story including inspiration right here. Both of these colorful bathroom makeovers are unique in their own way, but just goes to show that you can have two totally different styles and still be able to successfully use color in a really amazing way. Hopefully this inspires you to take some color risks in 2019. You can do it!
