I love a good outdoor space. Personally, I’m out on my tiny 7×7 terrace every single day. I love the mixture of colorful flowers and colorful prints and patterns of outdoor furniture. Lucky for us, 3 bloggers revealed their outdoor space makeover this week. Let’s take a look!
3 Bloggers’ Outdoor Space Makeover Reveal
1. Jewel Marlowe

At this point, you can expect Jewel Marlowe makeovers to be a permanent fixture around here. I’ve been following her designs for over a year, and she seems to outdo herself with each one. This one in particular is really special because it was done for only $200.
You know how much I love a budget makeover; it’s my bread and butter. Jewel also subscribes to the “shop your own home” idea, and I love that. I actually wrote about it a few weeks back. It is possible to update your home for free by just shopping what you already have and giving it new life or a new home within your home.
Jewel is the ultimate DIYer. Her DIYs are always spectacular and really high end looking. Last week, I wrote about her home tour, which featured so so many cool DIYs.
Jewel did ALL OF THIS with some DIYs, some shopping of her own home, and a small budget that went a long way. That ceiling fan? It was originally white and she spray painted it black and opted for Edison bulbs for a chic update. Technically, this isn’t an outdoor space makeover, but a sunroom should count as one in my opinion. And this is too good not to share.
If you look at all the details of this makeover you will be amazed. Did you catch the 110″ terrazzo curved sofa? I also love how she hung the art. Can you spot her technique?
2. The Makerista

First off, Gwen has my dream home. I long for a white house with black accents. Swoon! She lives in a classic colonial in Kansas City, and mixes modern, traditional, and Victorian styles seamlessly. Last summer, she had this amazing table custom made with indestructible Dekton materials (she has 3 kids under age 10, so it was necessary).
Last summer, she redid her sun deck in a black and white color scheme with the help of Arhaus. See those railings on her second floor deck? Custom built by her talented hubby. It’s modern, architectural, and fantastic. This outdoor space makeover is what neutral dreams are made of.
Do you see a trend here? My favorite (and most interesting, IMO) interiors will always be custom. Fear not, because custom doesn’t have to mean pricey! With a little elbow grease, you can get the home of your dreams, designed to your exact specifications.
Lately, Gwen has been all about outdoor decor. She’s posting about her cutting garden, and walking us through the monochromatic color scheme she has chosen for her flower design. If you missed her last makeover (indoors), I wrote about the colorful bathroom she designed for her girls. It’s a beauty.
3. Casa Watkins

This is a “new to me” blog and I’m so happy I discovered it. I am loving the soft palette with a ton of natural elements. I’m really into terracotta lately, and I’m pretty sure those pots are from IKEA (because I want the same ones).
This outdoor space makeover is tiny but mighty! There is a lot of punch in this small space and it is designed perfectly. Here’s why it works: there’s color, pattern, the rug anchors the elements, there are different heights of plants (making it appear more spacious), and it’s just so freaking cozy!
I love the repetition of the leaf motif and the green and yellow color scheme. That paired with the terracotta colored deck pulls it all together and makes it look like a nature lovers dream. What do you think?
So…which outdoor space makeover is your favorite? Are you a maximalist like Jewel Marlowe, a minimalist like The Makerista, or somewhere in between like Casa Watkins? Me? I’m a maximalist and color lover all the way:-)
