Everyone loves a good IKEA hack, right? Well, what if I told you that there is another affordable Scandinavian furniture brand that helps make your IKEA hacking dreams a reality? Introducing, Superfront, the Scandi company helping you hack your home on a budget with a totally custom look.

This Scandinavian design company is new to me, and yet, I keep asking myself HOW have I not heard of this brand before? You are already well versed with IKEA, and now you can meet Superfront. Superfront is kind of like IKEA, if IKEA started selling custom pieces for their own hacks. With Superfront, you have the ability to customize anything with beautiful materials that are pre-designed, revealing a delightfully custom (and expensive) look without the crazy price tag. That’s the dream, right?

As you know, my interior design style is a nice mix of DIY, second hand, vintage, and new but affordable. I believe in a curated home, meaning I don’t want it to look like a page in a catalog. Your home is a reflection of you, your aspirations, your work ethic, your personality. Your home isn’t a cookie cutter box that looks like it belongs in the intro of the TV show ‘Weeds’. You know the theme song, right? The theme song is called ‘Little Boxes’ by Malvina Reynolds and is about everyone and everything being all the same. Let’s avoid that, please.

I believe myself to be a middle of the road minimalist. What does that even mean? I just made it up, but it’s a healthy balance between minimalism and maximalism that embraces a collected-over-the-years feel without the clutter of your grandma’s house look. It is intention design that enhances negative space while also being cozy enough to feel like a home.

This design style actually started when I moved to NYC and had to majorly downgrade. In Ohio, I had a ton of space. Not anymore, girlfriend! I was forced to bring and buy only the furniture that I truly loved. This is now called the Mari Kondo Method! Your space should feel special and your attention to detail should be showcased.

I am all about a custom design at an affordable price and that is why I am THRILLED to find Superfront. You can buy their premade furniture, but you can also customize what you already have! Things like table legs, cabinet fronts, and hardware can all be used to update your current situation.

The IKEA hacking trend has been around for a while and now companies are starting to produce their own lines of IKEA-friendly swap outs so you can update your IKEA furniture seamlessly. You might have heard me mention the Semihandmade x Sarah Sherman Samuel collab featuring gorgeous cabinet fronts.

I found the website to be incredibly helpful and I have actually been looking for new wardrobe handles (we don’t have a bedroom closet) and I think I want to purchase these copper handles.

There is even an inspiration page for you to peruse.

So, what do you think? Are you loving this affordable Scandinavian furniture that’s not IKEA? I thought so. Now tell me, what are you going to update in your home?

-Kristen
