You’re probably familiar with Christina El Moussa from HGTV’s Flip or Flop. She’s had a pretty exciting life recently, including a surprise wedding last week! In July, she moved to Newport Beach, CA and now has a brand new interior design to suit her new life. Pictures of Christina El Moussa’s home design have been surfacing, and let me just say, they are amazing. Today, I’m giving you a sneak peak at her redecorated home so you can see for yourself how her design style has completely changed (for the better!).

Before giving you the tour, I think it’s important to give you a taste of where her design style was previously. If you have seen Christina’s last home, you’ll know it was super girly and glamorous. With a color palette of neutrals and silvers, she decorated with so many shiny and mirrored surfaces. There was a sense of luxury, but it was not a really accessible design for the masses.

See what I mean? This is in no way criticizing her design style; I’ve always been an advocate of designing to make YOU happy, and no one else. I just think that going from something that feels like a museum to a more earth centered and welcoming design is a huge jump and needs to be shared. You  may have read my blog post teaching you how to update your design style, and this is definitely a way!

Christina enlisted the help of Raili CA Design, an interior design studio whose head was once a fashion executive in the surf industry. Wild, I know! I love when people have dramatic career changes; I feel that they bring a really unique perspective to their new endeavors and the result is an explosion of creative solutions.

In this case, Raili has given Christina a really cool, ultra unique yet relaxed, cozy California vibe and it’s giving me life. Christina said she really struggled decorating this home because of its layout. It was so open that she actually needed to close off parts of the floor plan. She couldn’t find anything that fit her style, and after months of trying, she finally hired a pro.

Thanks to Raili CA Design, Christina El Moussa’s home design is absolutely beautiful. It’s accessible, comfortable, warm, and filled with really unique and personal accents. It’s a perfect fit for the cool Boho California vibe Christina was going for and you can really see how much her design style has evolved.

This is a vintage Indian motorbike in her living room! Her husband, Ant Anstead, is an English TV host and motor specialist, so it was fitting to have this motorbike along with an oversize London Underground sign in her home. What a nice nod to her hubby’s heritage and industrial style! Designing for both sexes can work, ya’ll.

Here we have Christina’s home office. It’s light, bright, and quirky…my favorite combo. Recognize the woman hanging on the wall? It’s Ellen O’Neal, famed skateboarder. How’s that for a boss babe’s nod to girl power? Christina El Moussa’s home design might just be one of my favorites. I’m a sucker for creativity.

I mean, who can resist a selfie wall of kids?? Personally, it takes a lot for me to get on board using family photos as art; I just think it’s a great idea in theory, but the end result usually lacks proper execution. This, however, is a fun and creative way to make an impact with photos and have them pass as actual art. If you want to use family photos as decor in your home, I recommend this approach versus the typical small misplaced photo on a side table.

What do you think? Were you a fan of her old style or the new? Personally, I think this new house is killin’ it. Christina El Moussa’s home design is perfect for a lived-in California casual style. Raili CA Design expertly added personal touches throughout, from the vintage motorbike, to the giant surfboard. This home is like no other.
