To start this new year off right, I am making this shoppable blog post about my favorite design of 2017. This is the Daring Dining Room.
This post is going to be a fun one. I obviously love all forms of art and I currently want to move because I am running out of wall space for MORE ART PLEASE. I would thrive in a space that would let me art to my max. Art is so fun and so personal and I feel like this is turning into a PSA. Putting art in your home is such a wonderful way to show off that personality of yours.
This post makes me supremely happy. It is the second in my French inspired series. In my last post about my French inspired KITCHEN design, we talked about what makes it truly French inspired? What are the elements of classic French bistro design?
I think one of my favorite design styles is taken from the French. I love love love those phenomenal black French iron windows and that black and white penny tile. When looking at apartments in NYC, which is something I do too often, it makes me so so happy when I find a bathroom with original black and white penny tile.
Hey there! As I’m getting older (I just turned 32!), I find myself having more traditional leanings. OH GOOD GOD. Granted, now my version of traditional is different than most, but still, times they are a changin’.
Maybe it’s my obsession with master designer, Brian Patrick Flynn, who designs all the HGTV dream homes, but I have recent leanings towards plaid everything.
I’ve been dreaming lately about kitchens. Maybe it’s because mine is so tiny that Derek Zoolander would exclaim, “WHAT IS THIS? A KITCHEN FOR ANTS?!”. Maybe it’s because I have 8 inches of counter space and frequently use the tile floor as a cooling rack for post oven foods and I use the bathroom sink as an auxiliary kitchen sink. In fact, your master bathroom is probably larger than my kitchen. I also can’t believe people have master bathrooms.
The farmhouse style is #trending, to say the least! But you can still have a successful nod to farm life without being all literal about it. Today, I am going to show you how to do just that.
Personally, I enjoy the farmhouse style. It makes me feel like there is always bacon and biscuits in the house. Most of my thoughts are food related, FYI. I love the airy-ness of this style and the predominance of natural materials like wood. SO much wood. And also, it is just so dang cozy!
Would you come over if my dining room looked like this? Thought so. I would make you lots of good food and we could talk for hours because this space is just so elegant and warm. It’s definitely a room you wouldn’t leave. You know, BECAUSE OF THE SPECIALNESS.
Fun fact: did you know that colors can also be neutrals?
I kid you not! This room, although showing off some serious emerald dreams, is still neutral.
So today I have a surprise for youuuu. I want to introduce you to a site called Coolors. I use Coolors for pretty much everything. I have used it to decide on colors for my business cards, branding, website, individual blog posts, paint pairings, furniture color palettes, you name it. It is AWESOME and FREEEEEEE.
