Daring Dining Room

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I am so thrilled it's finally 2018. Wasn't 2017 filled with a bunch of things you talk to your therapist about? Whew, glad that's over. To start this new year off right, I am making this shoppable blog post about my favorite design of 2017. This is the Daring Dining Room.

Hey, you!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I am so thrilled it’s finally 2018. Wasn’t 2017 filled with a bunch of things you talk to your therapist about? Whew, glad that’s over.

To start this new year off right, I am making this shoppable blog post about my favorite design of 2017. This is the Daring Dining Room. This was such a fun project and I am thrilled with the final design. I always love designing bold spaces, but I’m never quite sure how they will go over with everyone else. Surprisingly, this was one of the most liked designs of 2017! Color me shocked…but not too shocked, because this dining room is what modern dreams are made of. FO REALZZZ.

I think what makes this my favorite design is that I was able to use all of my favorite things and favorite vendors. I used my favorite vintage supplier, my favorite wallpaper company, one of my favorite artists for big bold and beautiful paintings, my favorite source for sexy seating, the list goes on. When you’re using all of your favorite things, you’re really on the right track to create something magnificent.

I’ve been a super fan of Anna Ullman, whom I discovered through Orlando Soria. She makes incredible large scale and bold paintings…perfect for this dining room design that needs some POW. I also discovered ER Studio LA through Orlando. He’s got some great stuff featured on his instagram lol. And how sexy is this vase with chain detail? Yessss ma’am! Bold artwork? Check. Handmade ceramics? Check. Awesome wallpaper? Duh. Now what’s left is some VINTAGE!

I wanted this room to be dark and mysterious with a little bit of sexy. That’s where the vintage pieces come in. Vintage chrome will deliver…just check out that chandelier. I mean, COME ON. Sexy! Vintage Klein blue velvet cane back chairs and a burl wood table and we are in business. And to add a touch of modernity that doesn’t take itself too seriously, I added these beautiful wrinkled white chairs. They are literal works of art from one of my favorite Canadian vendors, Black Rooster. And now all I want to do is eat, sleep, and work in this dining room. Can you even imagine the type of dinner parties to be had here?! Can you imagine how cool the owner’s friends? Probably SO cool. I hope this inspires you to think outside of the box and embrace multiple bold decor elements. Yeah, it can get overwhelming, but not if done properly. If done properly, it is MAGIC.

I hope you enjoy!
