Farmhouse Bathroom Gone Modern

The farmhouse style is #trending, to say the least! But you can still have a successful nod to farm life without being all literal about it. Today, I am going to show you how to do just that. Personally, I enjoy the farmhouse style. It makes me feel like there is always bacon and biscuits in the house. Most of my thoughts are food related, FYI. I love the airy-ness of this style and the predominance of natural materials like wood. SO much wood. And also, it is just so dang cozy!

It’s like it is always a crisp fall day and you’re always wearing your favorite flannel, and are wrapped in a home knitted throw. I’m a city girl, and after watching Ree Drummond on Food Network, I feel like that’s what farm life is like? After all, she is the Pioneer Woman; a real life pioneer woman. PS: if you haven’t tried her recipe for Tom’s Trinidadian Curry, ya prolly should.

Anywho, most people don’t know that farmhouse style doesn’t have to be only shiplap and reclaimed barnyard wood (I know, I know; I’m no fun). You can mix your personal style with the farmhouse style and create an eclectic space that people will love when they come over to help you milk the cows or harvest some wheat. Is this at all what farm life is about? I stopped playing Farmville early on. It should be noted I didn’t see a cow until I was in my 20s. A real life cow. Woah, what a day that was. It should also be noted that in college, I missed a drive by shooting by a few minutes and the poor person who didn’t miss it got my flower bed all bloody and left a body print. See, I told you: city girl. Maybe that’s why I design with a sense of danger?

And for my next trick, I will mix farmhouse with modern vintage and have everything go perfectly. Take a gander and tell me what you think. Ok, byeeeee!
