You have probably heard of Paloma Contreras, an incredible interior designer. And if you haven’t heard of her by name, you will probably recognize her famed blog, La Dolce Vita. Her designs are breathtaking, seamlessly mixing modernity with femininity, softness and texture. Well, she now has a book, Dream, Design, Live, which launched early this month. Today, we will take a peek at Paloma Contreras’s first book.

But first, in case you’re not familiar with Paloma’s aesthetic, let’s take a look at some of her projects, shall we? Her mix of modern glamour and refined elegance is really unique. I love her playful mix of pattern and her abandon when it comes to adding interesting design elements and vintage pieces.

Just look at all the lovely layers of this bedroom! The muted tones, the Chinese ginger jar, the wallpaper, the gold accents, it’s all just so good. Notice how she pairs vintage pieces with modern elements like the ginger jar atop a modern acrylic side table. The traditional wall color and vintage bench with pops of color throughout the room. This bedroom makes me think of a really cool and swanky old hotel in New Orleans. It’s timeless elegance. Paloma Contreras’s first book is going to be full of these brilliant design nuggets.

In my opinion, she’s the vignette QUEEN. She combines really special little design moments in a space making it feel so luxurious yet familiar and cozy. The modern art, the vintage chairs, the understated Greek key pattern on the curtains, the animal print; it’s so fun but also featured in a refined palette so it’s not too much. Paloma Contreras’s first book will feature a ton of color, pattern, and special little vignettes.

So now that you are familiar with her style, let’s dive into some images from the actual book! Even this kitchen has touches of glamour and vintage elements paired with a modern hood and globe pendants. We already know how much of a fan I am of globe pendants. The architectural simplicity of this kitchen is so beautiful.

Paloma loves a gold moment. I’m loving her use of gold on wall hangings and frames in her various projects. Adding a metal element really brings the space alive. Here she pairs super traditional lighting with a large modern abstract art piece (which thrills me). The wall paneling adds more interest and detail without bringing in another color or pattern. It’s so refined and stunning.

Paloma Contreras’s first book launched September 4th and is available now. I think it will be a wonderful coffee table book and will be a great conversation piece. That’s what coffee tables are for, right? Talk soon.
