I’m a big fan of sales. I really try to get the best pieces for both myself and my clients. My favorite thing is when I have budget conscious clients around holiday sales. Winner winner chicken dinner! Over the last couple weeks, I’ve been writing a lot about sales. I love when end of season and holiday sales coincide. So, today I’m sharing my favorite Labor Day outdoor furniture sales (decor too!).
I mentioned in last week’s post that we are spending more and more time outdoors, so now would be the time to give your outdoor space a little love. For me, summer is not my thriving season. It’s hot and I have heat sensitivity. But FALL? Fall is when I’m outdoors everyday. I have no allergies because not much is blooming, and temps are cool so I can take a 3 mile walk without sweating through my shirt. Ya feel me?
If you follow me on Instastories, you have seen that I ordered all new plants for my terrace! There has been construction on the brownstone next door and their scaffolding killed my summer garden. So, I’m starting anew! I’ll be sharing those plans soon:-) I am beefing up my outdoor space like most people do in the summer. I am READY for my thriving season!
Personally, my outdoor space is super tiny (I live in NYC, after all). So, like my tiny apartment decor strategy, I like to play up what I have. I love an eclectic mix of everything and I stay away from sets. Curation is how you pull of an expensive looking and thoughtful design.
You probably already know this by now, but I am drawn to color. I like to go relatively neutral on the larger more expensive pieces and then add pops of color to the decor. That is the most affordable way to design, in my opinion, because you can swap out the smaller affordable stuff as needed or seasonally (like now, boo!). So with this roundup, you’ll notice larger pieces that are neutral and then we hit ’em with the colorful pillows.
Labor Day Outdoor Furniture Sales
When it comes to roundups, I never just look at once piece; I have to visualize it as part of a whole. I’m sure you do as well, otherwise no one would ever choose shiplap, right? You’re not going to nail planks to your wall unless you can visualize the entire space. Shiplap alone just sounds crazy, but it works as part of a whole. Same applies when shopping sales.
So, out of these items, I’ve made 4 designs (the first one was last week, second one is the feature image of this post, and you can expect another 2 designs next week). That way, if you see something you like on this giant list, you have an interior designer in your pocket and can visualize a style! Whoop whoop!
Just a reminder–that I will keep mentioning forever because I do not think enough people know about this trick–you can use outdoor furniture and decor indoors! Outdoor furniture and decor is made to last and withstand elements, so it will be the workhorse of your home and still look great years later. So, even if you’re not in the market for patio pieces, you can always use anything from this list indoors.
Pro tip: Use outdoor pillows in kids rooms
