I’m a huge fan of Jenny Komenda. I think she is so, so good at putting together a space that feels like home, but is also gorgeous. She’s always up for a good ole’ DIY and her latest Evergreen House project is full of them. Today I’m sharing Jenny Komenda’s Dutch door DIY tutorial because it is so good!
I’ve already written about her Evergreen House kitchen reveal, which is also insanely good, so give that a look. You can see the Dutch door below in the kitchen. So lovely, right?

Jenny killed it with this house. Straight up knocked it out of the park. I am a color lover, but man, she makes me looooove neutrals. And that checkered patio? COME ONNNN. I love the black, white, gray, and terracotta color scheme with pops of greenery. And that brick is reclaimed, by the way, in case you didn’t think things could get even more amazing.

This Dutch door DIY is super easy; it just requires a little bit of elbow grease. You’re basically just making one horizontal cut that’s about 3 feet wide, then sealing it and adding hardware. I’ll let Jenny show you how she did her Dutch door DIY. Check out her tutorial below and DIY yourself the cutest door in the history of ever.

Here Jenny walks you step by step through her Dutch door DIY.
PS: If you don’t know the history of this house, Jenny purchased it as a fixer upper and redid the whole place, including the exterior. It is full of so much charm and special touches, something Jenny always delivers. The new homeowners much have thought so too because the house sold before it was even on put on the market!
So, what do you think of Jenny’s Dutch door DIY? Do you have a kitchen nook that could use a fresh breeze? The weather is perfect for this kind of DIY so I say you should go for it!
