First, I have some fun news! I was named a top 40 affordable home decor influencer by FeedSpot! 

Here’s why this matters: I am *so* incredibly passionate about affordable home decor. So much of what we see on social media are images of high end design. Which is all well and good, but is inaccessible to 99% of the population. So it’s always been my goal to bring affordable, beautiful, accessible design to the masses as best I can. And it’s truly wonderful that a publication took the time to research people in the the budget design space who are doing just that. And for that I am grateful to be included! While I definitely don’t consider myself an influencer, I am happy to hold the role of your personal online affordable home decor shopper and hopefully a trusted source for all things affordable home decor:-)

Now on to the gourd stuff…I’m about to make a bold (but true!) statement: a colorful gourd lamp is the unsung hero of your space. Here’s why: the gourd lamp in itself is an architectural marvel. It is one of the most sought after silhouettes by designers and home decorators alike. It is classic but has so many modern takes to literally suit any home decor style. It is soft but noticeable, it flows with other decor, fitting in but also standing out. It is THE lamp silhouette. Now, add some color? Forget about it. You’ve got a winning combination that is high design just by amping up your accessories. An easy win (my favorite kind!)

Today, I’m not just going to sing the praises of the colorful gourd lamp, but I’ll show you how they fit into spaces of many colors and styles. And to think, this entire post was inspired by a Facebook Marketplace listing I saw of a woman selling her “custom gourd lamps” for $2,000. She claims they are 50% under retail price. Can you imagine spending $4,000 on LAMPS?? So, I took to my Instagram stories asking if you wanted posts about getting the look for less, and guess what…100% of you did.
