SIMPLE Fall Front Porch Decor Ideas (Neutral)

Fall is the season of the soul and what better way to connect with that beautiful soul of yours than to create serene and simple fall front porch decor.

I believe our homes can be a blessing to others through design. You know the house growing up that made you smile when you passed? You can be that house!

Today I have some beautifully simple fall front porch ideas for you to implement and be a blessing to everyone who passes your home. In these crazy times we live in, adding warmth and joy to your community is so, so beneficial. Be that blessing!

PS: last week I shared my ideas for a colorful fall front porch. So if color is your jam, head there too!

Serene & SIMPLE Fall Front Porch Decor

I love me some color, but I also love serenity. These simple fall front porch decor ideas will give you that serenity and bliss as we gently ease further into fall.

Modern & Minimal

Doesn’t this seem so peaceful? If your goal is serenity, try to choose a color palette that will also be soft against your home exterior color.

To style:

Place large pumpkins and then fill in the gaps with medium pumpkins. For height, add a couple planters of fall flowers and pampas grass.

Porch Patch

Have you heard of the “porch patch”? It’s a grouping of pumpkins so it feels like a casual pumpkin patch. I love the asymmetry here.

To style:

Grab your largest pumpkins (white and orange) and place first. Then just fill in the gaps by a casual grouping of smaller pumpkins of the same color. You can add a large display of mums opposite to balance the look.

Pretty Pastels

This is perhaps my favorite simple fall front porch decor idea because of its minimalism that still exudes so much warmth!

To style:

We’re going for soft pastels here so choose white, princess, and peach pumpkins with peach/soft orange mums. You don’t have to have a large grouping! Opt for large and medium sizes here for both pumpkins and mums and add more negative space around the groupings.

Traditional Warmth

This neutral fall front porch decor shines with its warmth and nostalgia. This idea really pops with a white house!

To style:

Add mums of a similar color palette (red shown here) to your largest planters. Place these and the largest pumpkins first. Then just fill in the gaps with smaller pumpkins of different sizes, shapes, colors, and textures. You can also soften the look by adding smaller planters of white mums.

Coastal

A robin’s egg blue front door gets me every time. Pair that with soft hues and we have a winner.

To style:

If you have a colorful front door, choose groupings of white mums, and white and princess pumpkins (the pale green ones). Personally, I don’t like the cornstalks so I would omit those to simplify and elevate this design.

Festive Fall

This is an updated traditional design that is in a cooler color palette and softer than just orange pumpkins.

To style:

Grab some magnolia garland to hang around your door. Then choose a few large white mum planters and accent with mostly white pumpkins. Add a few green and orange pumpkins to complete the look. You want a good variety of small, medium, and large pumpkins for more interest.

Subtle Ambiance

Don’t put your summer hurricanes in storage just yet!

To style:

Group your hurricanes with white pillar candles and accent with large, medium, and small white pumpkins. If color is desired, opt for purple mums.

IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY:

Unless you are sitting on your porch while your candles are lit, please use flameless pillar candles! You can even get some with moving flickering “flames” that look real.

Easy & Breezy

This is probably the most affordable simple fall front porch decor idea on this list!

To style:

Your color palette will be soft pastels so gather some medium/medium large size pumpkins in pastel hues and group in twos along your entry. Finish off the look with complementing pampas grass wreaths.

Tonal Vignette

This is a great close up of how you can style groupings of pumpkins and flowers!

To style:

We want to stick with a white/off white palette. Choose large pumpkins to group in front of large baskets of white mums. Add a couple medium pumpkins to stack and you’re done!
