The 2024 Color Trend That is Actually Timeless

I save a lot of inspirational images on instagram. I have a bunch of folders that I add bookmarks to when I see a design that is amazing. And I began to notice a pattern…there is a particular 2024 color trend that can be used in literally every space with every style.

Now, I recommend observing trends over participating in them, but this 2024 color trend is actually timeless. Rest assured that this is not another fleeting color trend; it is a timeless classic that has gained popularity recently because it works super well across the board. So, not a trend, just trending…and for good reason.

The 2024 Color Trend That is Actually Timeless

This 2024 color trend oozes warmth and comfort and can be modified to suit different styles and budgets. Benefitting all design styles from cottage-core to a formal living room, let me show you the loveliest color combo that is a warming comfort in any space.

Whatever your style, we could all use colors in our home that bring cozy comfort and perpetual warmth. This color combo is just that.

Drum roll please…..

It's green and gold!

*and all varieties of

When I tell you this 2024 color trend can be used in virtually any application, that is no exaggeration, friend. And we’re not just talking green and gold, we are including all ranges of these. In this post I’ll show you how different shades of green and gold can be translated in any number of ways to suit your specific style and color comfort.

Remember: design is a range, not a literal copy. We can make any trend our own.

If you’re wanting a comforting home, but aren’t there yet, keep reading. We will explore this color combo’s multiple applications with different fabrics and design styles.

Sage & 70s

See the built ins? They are a gray dominating sage green and green is repeated throughout the space in different tones and hues. Our gold color is reflected in the rattan chair, the variated cream wallpaper, soft yellows of the rug, art, and the coffee table greenery. The result is a soft eclectic space with playful pattern.

Gray-green & wovens

A very neutral and subtle variety still rooted in a green and gold palette. See, I told you this 2024 color trend can be versatile! Soft gray green cabinetry paired with DeVol cream pendants (that were just installed in my Brooklyn kitchen project, heyoooo), and earthy woven barstools feature this color trend in the softest most airy way.

Cottagecore & Mulberry

English countryside, anyone? This vintage style sofa with soft grassy green velvet and a true gold pillow paired with mulberry accents shows the green and gold 2024 color trend is as timeless as it is trending. Also trending? A delightful non-Christmassy take on red and green. It imparts a nostalgia that isn’t so obvious, ya know?

Earthy Metropolitan

If you’re a neutral lover through and through, that’s fine! If you’re using warm woods, you’re already on board with the ‘gold’ half of our palette. We’re not trying to replicate the green and gold 2024 color trend exactly; we can use the spirit of the pairing and adapt to our specific style. Add some greenery and minimalist art and you’re all set!

Boho & Architectural

Cozy rustic cottage

This Amber Interiors style space shows us that brown hued greens paired with rustic elements bring out the softness of this color trend. At its core, it’s a homey palette to use.

Eclectic minimalism

There are many shades of green and gold in this space and the various shades are reflected in the multiple stone and textile varieties.

Boho MCM

Warm woods in the architectural headboard (gold) softened by the wavy edge sage bedding modernizes this MCM dominant look. A lesson in refined minimalist interiors that are actually warm!

Balanced chinoiserie

It’s the gold fringe lampshade for me. Emily Henderson is the queen of layering blue and cream tones. Here she created a transportive space with chinoiserie wallpaper and vintage accents.

Garden formal

I mean…come on. This space is formal but the wallpaper, art, and wicker chair bring it down a notch so it still feels casual.

Have I convinced you to try the *actually timeless* 2024 color trend? If you’re wanting a simple way to add some grounding elements, look no further. You can easily find small affordable items and textiles to help impart the zen of nature with the green and gold palette.
