My Favorite Tile Options: Green Edition

Hellooooooo!

Welcome to the next installment of my favorite tiles. Today is GREEN. How about a little brightness and fun in the dead of winter? Unless you’re in the south or the west coast, you’re probably swimming in snow. Looking at something fresh and green is just what the soul needs.

I hope this post makes you happy. Green is one of my favorite colors and, oh man, green tile in a kitchen or bathroom is absolutely stunning. If you need proof, check out these green spaces by Justina Blakeney. Don’t they make you SO happy? Ugh. Sooooo good. The emerald green subway tile in the kitchen is taken straight out of my dreams.

Winter is realllly getting to me. These Northeast winters are just dreary and bleak. I am lucky enough to live in a city that is super bright and has excellent public transportation, so at least when the weather is terrible and blizzarding (a word I just made up), I am able to get out.

Remember me telling you I worked as a nanny when I first moved to NYC? Snow days were my favorite days. It didn’t stop me and my little buddy from getting out and everything was an adventure! We would take the bus and it was so fun driving through all the snow and slushing around to our destination. I miss that. But what’s also nice during winter? Working from home next to a window and watching the snow fall, then taking a break and walking around the upper west side (where I live) and admiring all the snow covered brownstones. It’s magic. Just last Friday, I walked down to Riverside Park and watched the sunset over the semi-frozen water. Ah, it was glorious.

However, it can’t always be snowy and beautiful. And sometimes you just need a little brightness to liven you up. I don’t know about you, but during the winter is when I do a lot of my redecorating. Most people wait until spring, but I need a pick me up when it’s dreary, not when it’s nice out!

I hope this post inspires you to maybe venture out of the traditional white or gray kitchen…not that there is anything wrong with those choices! But, a colorful kitchen or bath will literally make your day every time you step into the space. Your friends will be floored (pun absolutely intended) that you have apparently been a design master this whole time! Your space will look like it’s from a magazine, not just from a cookie cutter image on Pinterest. Again, not that there is anything wrong with that; my goal is never to make anyone feel that what they have is somehow sub-par. After all, I’m just a stranger from the internet, so who cares what I think. But, what I try to do is teach you that while these images are so beautiful, other options are beautiful too and maybe are a closer match in showcasing that gorgeous personality of yours. Love you!
